Eighteen months before the onset of the covid-19 pandemic (whose origin remains a mystery), Chinese researchers based in Wuhan, through their US partners, were applying for grants to fund new work. The documents describing the project were obtained and authenticated by the collective “DRASTIC” (“Decentralized Radical Autonomous Search Team Investigating Covid-19”) which virtually brings together specialists from all over the world whose ambition is to uncover the truth about the origin of the virus since February 2020. The British daily The Telegraph (see link article below) gives details about the nature of the experiments in Wuhan, after the first leaks of documents proving the search for a job gain in Wuhan and the funding coming from the United States (cf. LSDJ 1382).
This involved infecting bats from caves in the Yunnan region with a modified coronavirus, using nanoparticles that can penetrate their skin, as well as aerosols. The document clearly mentions “novel chimeric advanced proteins”. The aim was to inoculate treatment trials with these bugs, preventing possible transmission to humans. Through genetic manipulation, the coronavirus was made more infectious to human organisms, with the goal of developing treatments to deal with the worst, in case transmission could not be prevented. In addition to bats, other animals (e.g. mice with genetically modified lungs with human characteristics) were used as guinea pigs.
US$14 million was therefore requested from the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA), a U.S. agency responsible for research and development of new technologies for military use
The documents state that researchers hoped to be able to “introduce human-specific cleavage sites into bat coronaviruses to allow them to infect human cells.” It will be recalled that the first scientists to analyze the sequencing of SARS-Cov2 were surprised at how effective the virus was in penetrating our organisms. They did not understand how natural evolution could have been so rapid, making the virus very infectious.
The grant application was submitted by zoologist Peter Daszak, head of the US-based EcoHealth Alliance, a non-profit organization working with the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).
Other U.S. researchers participated in these studies (some affiliated with the University of North Carolina). However, DARPA, which cannot be suspected of being a nest of gaping humanists, has refused to fund these projects. The reasons are given: ‘danger too great for the local population’ and ‘misjudged risk of a gain in function on the virus or of the airborne spread of a test vaccine’. DARPA, in its response, specifically referred to local eating habits of bats.
Angus Dalgleish, Professor of Oncology at St George’s, University of London, has faced many obstacles in publishing articles claiming that WIV was doing “function gain” research years before the pandemic.
He now suspects that the projects described in the documents have been carried out, despite the rejection of DARPA. It is already known that NIH (American Civil Institutes of Public Health) made donations via the EcoHealth Alliance…

A trained scientist, Matt Ridley is the co-author of a book investigating the origin of Covid-19 that will be released in November. “Today we learn that Peter Daszak is the author of this grant application and he has not said anything about it. I’m mad and everyone should be mad!”.
A WHO researcher, who asked to remain anonymous, is alarmed that the call for funds sent to DARPA did not stop at experiments on bat coronaviruses.
“They were also working on Middle-East Respiratory Syndrome (Mers)! These viruses have a lethality of more than 30%. So they are much more dangerous than the SARS-Cov2 that caused the Covid-19 outbreak… If they could make a Mers virus more contagious and still be as deadly, we could end up in an almost apocalyptic situation in the event of an incident!”
The Telegraph has contacted the EcoHealth Alliance and Wuhan Institute of Virology directorates for comments.
